Vishal Dadlani keeps his promise, Indian Idol Junior contestant Nahid sings for Sonakshi Sinha’s Akira
Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol is one of the most popular singing reality shows and it surely has emerged as a huge platform for a host of young talents to showcase their skills. In the last season of Indian Idol Junior, which concluded in September 2015, finalist Nahid won the hearts of judges and audiences alike with her soulful voice. Such were her mesmerizing performances that the show’s judge Sonakshi Sinha had asked her to sing for her upcoming movie. Co-judge Vishal Dadlani too was blown by the little girl’s performances and had promised her a song knowing that she had a great potential to become a playback singer. Since, Vishal is also the music composer of Sonakshi’s upcoming movie Akira, the duo kept their promise of giving her the big Bollywood break.
Nahid has sung the song RajjRajjKe for the movie, Akira. Interestingly, she has sung it along with Vishal Dadlani and Sonakshi. The song is already creating a lot of buzz and the Indian Idol Junior finalist is overwhelmed with the response she has been receiving. Kudos to Vishal and Sonakshi for identifying the real talent on the show and also fulfilling her dream.
Vishal says, “Every singer improves with exposure to a professional recording environment, and that learning process is constant, whether with Nahid or anyone else. She has the natural talent needed to be in the business, though. Not everyone is born with that. She's always been a simple, hard-working and dedicated student of music, which she still is. I hope that she remains so, forever. Her song has already done very well, but she knows that this is only the beginning, and hopefully, there will be many more successes, which will depend on hard work and perseverance. The key for her, is to keep her feet on the ground and keep learning. Everything else is incidental. Indian Idol Junior, as a platform, is invaluable in molding the contestants into professionals, while keeping them humble and focused. I wish I'd had such an atmosphere to learn from, when I was growing up.”
