Company and its bottling partners meet 2020 water replenishment goal 5 years early; intend to maintain water stewardship performance as business continues to grow
STOCKHOLM, August 29, 2016 – The Coca-Cola Company and its global bottling partners (the Coca-Cola system) today announced they have met theirgoal to replenish, or in other words balance,the equivalent amount of water used in their global sales volume back to nature and communities. Based on this achievement, Coca-Cola is the first Fortune 500Companyto publicly claim achieving such an aggressive water replenishment target1.
The Coca-Cola system also announced progress against its water efficiency goal. The Company and its bottling partners improved water use efficiency by 2.5 percent from 2014 to 2015, adding to a cumulative 27 percent improvement since 2004.
Based on a global water use assessmentvalidated by LimnoTech and Deloitte, and conducted in association with The Nature Conservancy (TNC),the Coca-Cola system returned an estimated 191.9 billion liters of water to nature and communities in 2015 through community water projects,equaling the equivalent of 115 percent of the water used in Coca-Cola’s beverageslast year.
“This achievement marks a moment of pride for Coca-Cola and our partners. A goal that started as aspiration in 2007is today a reality and a global milestone we plan to maintain as our business grows,” said Muhtar Kent, Chairman and CEO, The Coca-Cola Company. “Now, every time a consumer drinks a Coca-Cola product, they can have confidence that our company and bottling partners are committed to responsible water use today and tomorrow. We are keenly aware that our water stewardship work is unfinished andremain focused on exploring next steps to advance our water programs and performance.”
The Coca-Cola system has achieved its water replenishment goals through 248 community water partnership projects in 71 countries focused on safe water access, watershed protection and water for productive use. In many cases, projects also provide access to sanitation and education, help improve local livelihoods, assist communities with adapting to climate change, improve water quality, enhance biodiversity, engage on policy and build awareness on water issues.The program aspects mentioned in the preceding sentence do not contribute to Coca-Cola’s replenish volume.
Replenish performance is independently reviewed by LimnoTech and verified by Deloitte. That work is reflected in a 1,188 page report.The methodology for calculating water replenishment benefitswas created in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and LimnoTech. It was the subject of scientific technical peer review to verify itsaccuracy, and uses generally accepted scientific and technicalmethods. Projects are reviewed annually and evaluated using this methodology.
Some replenish projects directly return water to the source we use while others are outside the watershed our plant uses but are important to help meet needs of local governments, communities and partners where there is a pressing need.Coca-Cola and its partnersseek projects that have a direct benefit, can be scaled up to have greater impact by reaching more people and parts of an ecosystem, are easy to learn from and replicate in other places where the challenges are similar, and can be built to be sustainable by the community over time, continuing to replenish water. These efforts, as well as new projects, frequently address local source water vulnerabilities and balance additional sales volume as
Coca-Cola’s business continues to grow.
At each of its 863 plants globally, Coca-Colarequires operations to determine the sustainability of the water supply they share with others in terms of quality, quantity, and other issues such as infrastructure to treat and distribute water. Through this process, one of the factors Coca-Cola plantsmust examine is whether or not their use of water and discharge of water has the potential to negativelyimpact the ability of other community members to access a sufficient quantity and quality of water. If so, or if there are areas where water sources may still be unsustainable in some aspect, Coca-Cola’srequirement then mandates that each plant develop and implement a Source Water Protection Plan. The plan, among other things, engages others to mutually seek solutions to promote the sustainability of the local water source. This may result in replenish projects or other opportunities. While each plant may not replenish all water to its direct source, Coca-Cola’s policy is to require that all plants work to ensure they do not negatively impact water sources and work with the community on longer term solutions.
Coca-Cola’s replenishment strategy supports the Company’s overall water goal to safely return to communities and nature an amount of water equal to what is used in its beveragesand their production. On the production side, the Coca-Cola system returned approximately 145.8 billion liters of water used in its manufacturing processes back to local watersheds near our bottling plants through treated wastewater in 2015.
“All life depends on water, but less than 1 percent of the world’s water is fresh and accessible. From mountain glaciers to estuaries, we must account for the whole system if we hope to secure freshwater for all,” said Carter Roberts, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) President and CEO. “This means partnerships matter. This is an important milestone in Coca-Cola’s continued leadership on water stewardship and sets a standard for other water users to build from.”
Coca-Cola collaborates on replenish projects with governments, civil society and other members of the private sector. Some of the many organizations Coca-Cola partnerswith includeGlobal Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF), Millennium Challenge Corporation, TNC, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN-Habitat,United States Agency for International Development (USAID), WaterAid, Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP), Water for People, WWF, and World Vision.
Four programs with significant contribution to Coca-Cola’s water replenishment activities are our global conservation partnership with WWF, The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation’s Replenish Africa Initiative(RAIN), the Company’s Every Drop Matterspartnership with UNDP, which expanded to New Worldin 2014, and Coca-Cola’s investment in 50 water funds across 12 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, with key partners TNC, FEMSA Foundation and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). All of these programs are active and committed through 2020.
Replenish projects work to balance, or offset, the direct water use of The Coca-Cola Company and its bottling partners across operations in more than 200 countries. The water use is inclusive of water used within manufacturing as well as finished beverages, which includes water from fountain sales. The water footprint of growing agricultural ingredients sourced by the Coca-Cola system is not included in this goal. However, sustainable water practices are part of Coca-Cola’s Sustainable Agriculture Guiding Principles required for suppliers.

'Sinhasth' was recently organised next to Kshipra, a river in Ujjain. At this holy gathering, renown saints and holy persons from the country and all over the world gathered with the devotees who were at Ujjain. Those who could not be present for the religious occasion were involved through chants and prayers. Several people from Bundelkhand were also not able to attend the event and thus a rally is being organised in Orchha to fill the surroundings with resonating chants in worship of King Ram and mother Pitambara.
The motive for this religious event happening in Orchha is influenced by the natural calamities happening in the area. The saints are expected to gather and pray for the wellbeing of the area. It is believed that since the earth at Bundelkhand is not yet been prayed upon by the saints, it remains detached from nature.
On 11 to 19 October, on the banks of Betwa River of Raja Ram’s earth: held in a natural environment in Orchha the event of Sant Samagam is being planed to involve everyday activities like seminars, Kanya Puja (Girl worship), knowledge of yoga, Rama Katha, Bhandara (Offered twice a day): showcase of religious movies, local bazaars, local talents of Madhya Pradesh, as well as several other cultural activities.
The motive of the ‘Sant Samagam’ is to spread religious messages and create a cultural environment through the saints gathering during the course of 9 days of.
We kindly request your active participation in the 'Sant Samagam'. During this auspicious occasion of Navaratri, we would like if you could come on any one of the nine days and shower your blessings on your religious followers. In this ceremony, nine 'Maha Mandelshwars’ along with saints and teachers will be present. The inauguration of this ceremony will be done by 'Vishal Kalashyatra'. The world is at our finger tips today, thanks to internet and mobile phones … the digital age. We have managed to tame the outer world at the expense of some trade-offs which is within us. These characteristics have been eluded and moved away from us.
Sympathy, empathy, love, care and humanity have but all disappeared from us. Our life style, dietary habits, clothes and thoughts have changed so much in the name of globalization that today we are facing many ill-effects, especially health wise- mentally and physically.
Despite being surrounded by all these “mod cons” yet we are still suffering. Our pains, miseries and wants are all increasing thus causing us severe harms. Everyone has split personality, disruptive thoughts, tensions and anxieties. Everyone is living in fear, dilemma and desperation.
If poor people are sad because of poverty, lack of money etc.. and sick persons are because lack of medicines, these can be understood and accepted. But if someone with all resources, money and education is sad then life is questionable. Lots of educated people who are also rich tend to develop suicidal tendencies and divorce rate is high amongst them.
Today society has so many different problems. Attempts are being made to find solutions, but it is necessary to find the root cause of these problems. Abnormality of thoughts and abnormal thoughts are the main reason of all miseries and diseases.
Introspection is the foundation of character and character develops one’s behavior and personality. Persons make family, families form society and societies make nations.
We should stress on technical and vocational education. Education for fashion, modernity and science all have importance in our daily life, but our education should develop a balanced personality. This education should teach us how to face difficulties of life and live life to its fullest. It should develop humanity within us.
American author, Dale Carnegie, in his book, wrote –“Once six people died of plague in the streets of New York (US). One thousand government officers started explaining to people how to save from plague. On seeing this our eyes were filled, you will be thinking that government officers are doing a good thing, then why are we not happy? We were sad because when six people died from plague, thousand officers started explaining people how to how to save themselves from this disease. But when lakhs of people are living in anxiety and people are dying prematurely, still there is no government intervention to promote healthy living free from stress and anxiety.

If poor people are sad because of poverty, lack of money etc.. and sick persons are because lack of medicines, these can be understood and accepted. But if someone with all resources, money and education is sad then life is questionable. Lots of educated people who are also rich tend to develop suicidal tendencies and divorce rate is high amongst them.
Today society has so many different problems. Attempts are being made to find solutions, but it is necessary to find the root cause of these problems. Abnormality of thoughts and abnormal thoughts are the main reason of all miseries and diseases.
Introspection is the foundation of character and character develops one’s behavior and personality. Persons make family, families form society and societies make nations.
We should stress on technical and vocational education. Education for fashion, modernity and science all have importance in our daily life, but our education should develop a balanced personality. This education should teach us how to face difficulties of life and live life to its fullest. It should develop humanity within us.
American author, Dale Carnegie, in his book, wrote –“Once six people died of plague in the streets of New York (US). One thousand government officers started explaining to people how to save from plague. On seeing this our eyes were filled, you will be thinking that government officers are doing a good thing, then why are we not happy? We were sad because when six people died from plague, thousand officers started explaining people how to how to save themselves from this disease. But when lakhs of people are living in anxiety and people are dying prematurely, still there is no government intervention to promote healthy living free from stress and anxiety.
Today health and good thinking are rare. We eat regularly to be alive, similarly to add zing to our life good thinking is extremely important. At this holy gathering, renown saints and holy persons from the country and all over the world gathered with the devotees who were at Ujjain. Those who could not be present for the religious occasion were involved through chants and prayers. Several people from Bundelkhand were also not able to attend the event and thus a rally is being organised in Orchha to fill the surroundings with resonating chants in worship of King Ram and mother Pitambara.
The motive for this religious event happening in Orchha is influenced by the natural calamities happening in the area. The saints are expected to gather and pray for the wellbeing of the area. As a step towards the same, the Board of NSE in its meeting held on 22 August 2016 decided to engage the following four Joint Global Co-ordinators viz., Citigroup Global Markets India Private Ltd, JM Financial Institutional Securities Limited, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited, Morgan Stanley India Company Private Limited and Legal Advisor viz., Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
The Board also approved the appointment of Price Waterhouse & Co, Chartered Accountants LLP as Joint Statutory Auditors for the financial year 2016-17 along with the current statutory auditors and as sole Statutory Auditors for the financial years 2017-21, subject to the approval and ratification of shareholders as may be applicable.
With these steps, NSE expects the listing process to gain further momentum. NSE will consider appointment of more banks for additional roles as may be felt expedient.

Pooja finds herself burdened with household work and her everyday nagging makes Ranveer’s life difficult. The couple end up arguing on how will they manage without a maid. Ranveer believes that household chores aren’t a big deal, but women just exaggerate and are lazy to do things on their own. To prove her point Pooja challenges him to take charge of the daily chores for a week and share his experience. Ranveer accepts the challenge. He also decides to teach Mr. Gupta a lesson as he always takes undue advantage of situations, all because he is the society secretary. Ranveer devices a plan where he dresses up as a kamwalibai called Channo and takes up the job of a house help at half the price at Mr. Gupta’s.

Bhopal, August 19, 2016: Ziqitza Health Care Ltd (ZHL), one of India's leading emergency medical services provider has won the tender for integrated Emergency Medical Ambulance Services in the state of Madhya Pradesh. As a part of the tender, Ziqitza Health Care Ltd will work with the state government to provide comprehensive pre-hospital emergency services that are being consolidated under DIAL 108.
Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to bring all the emergency medical helplines under one umbrella, all serviced through the DIAL 108. The new DIAL 108 helpline managed by Ziqitza will now include Sanjeevani Express consisting of 604 ambulances, Janani Express with 735 ambulances, an additional 147 mobile medical units (MMUs), and 15 seat 104 Health Help Line.

The emergency ambulance service will be launched in the state for free of cost to the people of Madhya Pradesh. The emergency service will ensure delivery of quality emergency care across the chain of services with proper emergency management system. This fleet will comprise of both Advance Life support (ALS) and Basic Life Supporter (BLS) ambulances with sophisticated features like defibrillators, cardiac monitors and suction machines, among others. The ambulances will also have emergency medicines, life saving equipments as mentioned above along with oxygen cylinders
This ambulance service is a scheme under the Madhya Pradesh government and National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) which is predominantly an emergency response system designed to attend patients of critical care, trauma and accident victims. The citizens can avail for this service 24X7 free of cost. This is a people oriented service focused on providing free pre-hospital care to all people in Madhya Pradesh. The ambulances will be stationed mostly in CHC’s and district hospitals.

The acclaimed Bollywood personality has roped in child actor Arsheen Namdaar as Avni along with one of television's most popular faces; BarkhaBisht as Asha who will be Avni's mother.
Barkha who has acted in various shows and has charmed the audiences with her acting prowess was one of the first few choices to be cast as Asha. Mahesh Bhatt, who has personally looked into every aspect of the show was sure to cast Barkha as Avni's mother.

New Delhi, August 2016: Israel and United Kingdom (UK) extended a warm welcome to the visiting Vibrant Gujarat delegation from India. The meeting of the delegation in both countries focused on connecting businesses between the UK, Israel and the state of Gujarat in India with focus on manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure systems, cities and transport systems to name a few.
The Vibrant Gujarat delegates discussed possible investment synergies in start-ups between Israel and Gujarat, emphasizing on implementation of IT in academia, solar technology, agriculture sector and possible collaboration in the area of Defense, Technology and R&D. Furthermore, an academic collaboration with Tel Aviv University was discussed and deliberated upon, during the visit of the delegation the university.
Israel Innovation Authority in Tel Aviv met officials from the Vibrant Gujarat Delegation with keen interest and extended their services and support in the form of financial assistance, support for entrepreneurs and early stage companies, support from traditional and hi-tech companies, and collaboration in academics with the state of Gujarat.
Several meetings were held with private, multi-billion dollar companies such as Israel Aerospace Industries, Tahal and Mobileye discussing varied subjects ranging from collaboration of knowledge, enabling policies in a stable environment in Gujarat, potential partnership opportunities and participation opportunities at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017.
In UK, a roadshow was held in London to a packed audience comprising of members from the business community, academicians and others. Discussions were held on crowd funding initiatives and institutional structure for incubation and startups connections. Innovative UK shared their experience of working for the development of solar fuel cells along with automotive hybrid and electric vehicles.
Manchester’s Investment and Development Agency (MIDAS) representatives met officials from the Vibrant Gujarat Delegation with keen interest and extended their services and support in the form of collaboration in IoT, Advance Manufacturing, Technology and ICT sectors in the state of Gujarat.
The Vibrant Gujarat delegation also visited Salford University, Department of Climate Change which showcased retrofitting of equipment’s that enable energy efficiency and can be replicated by Gujarat.
Mrs. Mamta Verma, IAS, Government of Gujarat, Industries Commissioner said “The UK has greeted us amazingly and it is a combination of good governance, political stability and focus on development of robust physical and social infrastructure. The Gujarat state has not just focused on getting anchor investors, the intention always has been on the development of an enabling ecosystem for facilitating forward/backward linkages, exports. The State Government encourages private sector and foreign investors in funding/co-financing and developing of infrastructure projects. The state has immense potential in solar and wind energy, with a potential of 69,000 MW and 10,000 MW respectively, and most of it has been vastly untapped.”
She further added, “The outcome of our visit to Israel has also been very positive, especially in the startup and innovation sectors. We have received very encouraging response from everyone we met in Israel, and we are really looking forward to a fruitful collaboration, leading to a successful Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017”.
Kiritkumar H Patel, CEO, Urmi Solar Systems Ltd., Member of Vibrant Gujarat delegation said, "UK has a good innovation in renewable energy. They also have done work in gas based equipment. UK has good penetration of rooftop solar across villages as well. Given that we in Gujarat and at Urmi Solar see a lot of opportunity in collaborating with them."

A stellar line-up of 92 participating designers have once more come together to present the best of the fashion industry through innovative and inclusive collaborations. They will be showcasing their collection from the 24th August to 28th August, 2016 at The St. Regis, Mumbai.
Since its inception, Lakmé Fashion Week has set new trends, strived to promote young talent, taken the lead on the digital front and has transformed India’s premier fashion week into a global platform.
