Jaipur, June 4, 2016: Riding on the back of overwhelming response received last year,Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) in association with Regional Science Centre, Department of Science and Technology today inaugurated the Road Safety Summer Camp 2016 at Honda Traffic Training Park, Science Park, Shastri Nagar, Jaipur.The ‘Road Safety Summer Camp 2016’aims at imparting key learnings of road-safety and appealing to the consciousness of youngschool children and women.
With more than 100 excited children gathered at Honda’s Traffic Training Park, Science Park, Jaipur, the ‘Road Safety Summer Camp’ was inaugurated byMr. Kailash Mishra, In-charge, Science Park, Jaipur, in the presence of eminent dignitaries and officials of Honda.
Noteworthy that more than 1000 young aspirants have already registered for the Road Safety Summer Camp. The Road safety Summer Camp which has started today will continue till June 12th.
Commenting on the summer camp, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria-Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said,“This summer, once again Honda in association with Regional Science Centre, Department of Science and Technology is organizing the Road Safety Summer Camp in Jaipur. ‘Safety with fun’ being our priority, children will have an opportunity to learn through new exciting educational games on Road Safety Awareness.Attending this camp shall make these kids, safety influencers in their families today and responsible adult road users of tomorrow.”
Honda’s Road Safety Camp will have an assortmentof theoretical and practical experiences for kids and women.The specially designed fun engagements such as Snake & Ladder, Word Search Game, Road Sign Matching Game, and Female Safety Riding will make the younger ones and women aware on basics of road safety.
High school students will be trained on Honda Riding Trainer (a virtual riding simulator whichhelps peopleabove 13 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on road before actual riding on road). Kids in the age group of 9-12 years will be trained on Honda’s CRF 50 model, specially imported from Japan to help them understand the importance of safety riding. At the end of the camp, students will also be awarded with a certificate of completion.
Road Safety commitment of Honda:
For Honda, road safety is a global priority since 1970. In India, Honda is promoting road safety awareness right from its inception in 2001. In our 15 years operations, we have educated over 8 lac people of all age groups on safe riding. HMSI has trained around 3 lac people at its nine traffic training parks across India. These include: Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Yeola (Nashik),Indore, two parks in Delhi and upcoming 10th park in Ludhiana.
